About Aegis Medical
At Aegis Medical, we guide our clients through their addiction recovery by focusing on trauma-informed care and individualized support. Aegis is an outpatient addictions treatment facility with whole-person centered care, addiction counselling, access to community support programs, education and outreach programs.
At Aegis Medical, our multi-disciplinary team specialize in the treatment of addictions of all kinds, including Opioid Use Disorder, Alcohol Use Disorder, Tobacco Use Disorders and other behavioural addictions. We provide a team-based approach to patient care with an emphasis on respect, encouragement and best practices.
The Greek word “Aegis”, pronounced [ˈējis’] means “divine shield”. It is also defined as “the protection, backing, or support of a particular person or organization”.
Our mission is to be a symbolic shield for our clients, protecting them from harm and supporting them through their courageous journey to recovery.

Peter J. Farago III, MD
Dr. Farago is a Board-Certified Addiction Medicine Physician treating all ranges of Substance Use Disorders including opiates, alcohol, cocaine, benzodiazepines, gambling, and others. He routinely manages treatment for intoxication, withdrawal, and detoxification of alcohol, sedatives, stimulants, and opiates in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dr. Farago is licensed in both the United States as well as Canada to practice medicine and provide substance use disorder treatment at the highest levels. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM), The American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM) with a subspecialty certification in Addiction Medicine. He has earned a Certificate of Added Competence in Addiction Medicine (CAC-AM) from College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine as well as a Certificant of the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine and member of the International Society of Addiction Medicine.
